Ian has a wonderful ability to capture a scene with clarity and simplicity which he puts to good use painting in the beautiful fenland Cathedral City of Ely in Cambridgeshire. In this film Ian demonstrates how to capture a stunning town and riverscapes in pen and wash with all variations including the use of water-soluble pencils and water-soluble pens.

For the last of his six demonstrations Ian produces a stunning picture of an Ely backstreet using nothing more than a stick, a bottle of Indian ink and a few loose watercolour washes.
