This is Raphael’s most versatile brush and has been used for over 100 years. Its reputation was such that it was known simply as the French watercolour mop. Each brush is hand-wired and made by a specially trained brushmaker. This brush holds more than any other in Raphael range.
The ultra-fine quality pure Kazan squirrel hair is the finest and softest, yet durable hair available. This mop holds an incredible amount of water while maintaining a fine point. It is a multi-purpose brush, it is capable of unbelievably large and flawless washes, with a delicate point for unique brush strokes and line work.

All sizes are hand cupped in the ferrule and secured with wires to a beautiful wood handle. Goose quills used for larger sizes.

This brush will point up for delicate, fine work or it may be used as a mop for broad watercolour wash strokes.
