Maimeri Renaissance

Maimeri Renaissance Oils are formulated to replicate important colours used by Masters such as Michelangelo, Bellini, and Caravaggio during the Italian Renaissance (circa 1330–1595), one of the most important periods of development in art history.

Each of the 11 colours in the Renaissance range has been individually prepared to exhibit the same visual characteristics and “feel” under the brush or knife as paints made in accordance with traditional recipes from the period, although unstable or toxic pigments have been replaced with superior modern alternatives.
In keeping with tradition, Maimeri Renaissance Oil Colours are ground in cold-pressed walnut oil to minimize yellowing and provide excellent film strength. They are particularly suited to be used in combination with Maimeri Italian Natural Earth Oil Colours, as the palettes in each range complement the other perfectly.
